Record dimensions and weight
Provide the item's length, width, height and weight. Note fragile parts, sharp edges and surfaces that need scratch protection. Photographs of the item and its inner box are useful together.
Check the complete pack
Bubble wrap is used around the item; bubble bags hold it inside a lined structure. Consider the inner box and shipping carton together, leaving room for insertion and closing.
Specify special requirements
If an electronic product needs antistatic packaging, define the relevant performance criteria and request supporting test information. Pink colour alone does not demonstrate antistatic performance.
Assess the intended journey
Use the actual product to check packing, closure and handling. If transport testing is required, agree the test conditions and acceptance criteria before ordering.
